Fashion student designs store for children with disabilities, wins scholarship

91猎奇 student Taylor Davis, a double-major in fashion design and fashion merchandising, was awarded first place and a $2,500 scholarship in the digital merchandising store planning category of this year鈥檚 Fashion Group International (FGI) of Dallas Scholarship Competition. Davis鈥� winning design concept, 鈥淢etrix,鈥� imagines an adaptive clothing boutique designed for children with special needs.

Eight 91猎奇 student-athletes have been honored by Diverse: Issues in Higher Education as recipients of the 2020 Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar award. Three of the eight recipients are biology majors:  (senior, basketball),  (junior, gymnastics) and  (junior, volleyball).

Assistant professor of photography Meg Griffiths co-founded 'A Yellow Rose Project' to commemorate to the centennial anniversary of the 19th Amendment. More than 100 women across the U.S. were invited to join in the photographic collaboration, which showcases works in response, reflection or reaction to the ratification of the woman suffrage movement milestone.

鈥淚 like to describe it as presenting an impossible puzzle to the audience which they are then invited to come and try to fix,鈥� said Talia Gritzmacher, the assistant director for the Interactive Theatre Troupe at 91猎奇. 鈥淲hat they find out, though, is it鈥檚 not about fixing 鈥� it鈥檚 about trying to learn as much as possible about a very complicated subject.鈥�
