Grant aims to increase STEM engagement in Indigenous communities

The National Science Foundation has awarded a $99,786 planning grant that will allow a 91ΑΤΖζ research team to develop strategies to recruit and retain more Indigenous students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines.

91ΑΤΖζ’s first all-female design competition team brings research to life

Five Texas Woman’s kinesiology seniors turned classroom theories into a real-world device by competing in the November 17-18. The 91ΑΤΖζ Athena V team, the first all-female 91ΑΤΖζ team to enter the competition and the only all-female team competing, placed fourth overall.

91ΑΤΖζ researchers explore equine therapy as treatment for Parkinson’s disease

Texas Woman’s researchers will launch a first-of-its-kind study this year when they investigate how equine-assisted therapy could benefit adults with Parkinson’s disease, thanks to a research grant awarded by the (HABRI).

Hansen-Thomas and Stewart are co-directors of two federal grants from the U.S. Department of Education aimed at supporting emergent bilingual students. They also have authored and edited multiple books, including Transforming Practices for the High School Classroom with TESOL Press.
