Date set for health sciences center groundbreaking, campaign launch

Texas Woman’s University will break ground on a $107 million health sciences center designed as a hub for community and rural health efforts, which will significantly expand health care education, research and service.

Texas has a teacher shortage, and the College of Professional Education (COPE) at Texas Woman’s University is diligently working to address it in innovative, accessible ways. This fall, 91ÁÔÆæ will team with Houston ISD to guide nearly 100 teaching assistants toward bachelor’s degrees and Texas teaching certificates through $500,000 in grants aimed at producing educators from the district.
