Stankus wins crowd choice at UT Science Slam

Matthew Stankus, a 91ÁÔÆæ undergraduate biochemistry major under the direction of Mary Anderson, PhD, won crowd choice at the University of Texas Austin 2024 Fall Undergraduate Research Symposium's Science Slam event for his talk "Regulation of Glutathione."

NSF awards $250,000 grant to 91ÁÔÆæ chemistry

The National Science Foundation has awarded a $250,000 grant to Shiru Lin, PhD, of the 91ÁÔÆæ Chemistry and Biochemistry division.

The 91ÁÔÆæ Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry launched a new summer camp for high school students this summer, with 24 inaugural students completing the camp.

Salazar collaborates on NSF-funded project

91ÁÔÆæ's Gustavo A. Salazar, PhD, has collaborated with Xiao Li, PhD, of the University of North Texas on an NSF-grant-funded project, “CAREER: Liquid Crystal-Templated Sequential Infiltration Synthesis of Hybrid Organic/Inorganic Materials with Multidimensional Chiral Structures."

The project supports 10-week summer research positions for five undergraduate students at Xiao Li's lab and covers stipends, travel and subsistence costs, a total of $45,000 divided among five students. The collaboration allows 91ÁÔÆæ students to access advanced engineering and material science instrumentation.
